With more than 120 company members, Advance has continued to grow despite the pandemic. This clearly indicates that business wants to become more female. The call for more women in management positions, executive and non-executive boards is getting louder. This is highly relevant, as the complex challenges of our time require innovative solutions that can be achieved better by mixed teams. Our new Non-Executive Board is even more diverse as two men have joined the Board.

business wants to become more female
The shift towards a more gender-balanced business and society is in full swing. The reverberations of the pandemic may cause some setbacks, but we expect that substantial progress will be achieved in the upcoming years. With the ‘soft quota’ for women at the management level and in boards, and the new law stipulating equal pay analysis, the pressure on companies is increasing. At Advance, this development is reflected by growing membership numbers. Alongside growing in size, we are growing our organizational maturity. This includes a continuous evolution of our offering, structures and governance.
Men benefit just as much from a gender-equal society as women do. To achieve this, including the perspective of open-minded male leaders is essential.
Growing in size and maturity
Eight years after being founded by 10 ground-breaking companies, Advance keeps growing and is representing the who-is-who of Swiss business. About half a million employees now work at companies in the Advance network. ‘We want to do justice to this size and the associated potential by strengthening the diversity of the Board in a strategic step,’ says Petra Jantzer, President of Advance.
The eight elected new Board members are all top managers from powerful Swiss companies in different industries and have impressive track records. Two are men. ‘Men benefit just as much from a gender-equal society as women do. To achieve this, including the perspective of open-minded male leaders is essential, emphasizes Alkistis Petropaki, General Manager of Advance. Egon Zehnder and Russel Reynolds offered Advance assistance with professional evaluation free of charge. We thank them very much for this!
