Robert Itschner began his professional career as an apprentice mechanic. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil and an MSc in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, USA.
Robert has more than 25 years of experience in research and development, marketing, operations and sales, and has held various management positions in ABB divisions, both local and global. In October 2022, he became CEO of the Energy, infrastructure and service group BKW. Robert is also a member of the board of Economiesuisse, the umbrella organisation for Swiss business.
Robert firmly believes that an equal workplace is a non-negotiable prerequisite for any company, and fundamental to its success today and in the future. In his day-to-day work, he promotes the D&I agenda at BKW with the aim of taking specific measures that lead to visible progress.
Robert is married and has three adult children.
