Excerpts from the online event of November 19, 2020

In celebration of the International Men’s Day on November 19th, Advance hosted an event to talk about the changing role of men through generations. What does it mean to be a ‘real’ man nowadays? Has it become easier or more difficult for men to live a fulfilling life?

gender roles in transition

Thought-provoking, candid, funny, honest and full of self-reflection – that’s the best way to describe our virtual International Men’s Day event that happened yesterday! This is thanks to our great panelists Stephanino IseleJoop SmitsKenji KempAris Herzog-Petropakis, excellent moderator Dr. Margherita Fontana and our engaged audience of over 200 participants: 50%men / 50%women!

Our panelists faced difficult questions about what it means to be a ‘real’ man nowadays, how to show empathy, how the pandemic has shaped their lives, what does equality mean to them and what do they wish for for the next generation. A big shout out for everyone contributing to the discussion! Together we #advance faster!
