inspiring exchange with UK Secretary of state Rt hon kemi badenoch Mp
During her visit in Switzerland, Britain‘s Secretary of State & Minister for Women and Equalities Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP met with the Advance Board delegates Dr. Petra Jantzer, Anna Mattsson and Marion Leslie for an advisory exchange in the context of the new trade agreement between Switzerland and the UK.
The discussion centred around:
structural requirements to accelerate the development of equality for all genders
cultural differences and commonalities between Great Britain and Switzerland
factors to be considered in the gender equality chapter of the new trade agreement
Some key take-outs of this meeting:
While it is not the norm for women to work at high percentages when they have a family in Switzerland, the opposite is the case in Great Britain: working is the norm for women and men independent of their familial status.
Women’s financial literacy and empowerment are key to operate on eye-level and reach equality. In both countries, there is still a lot of work to be done in this respect.
We thank Hon Kemi Badenoch MP for her trust in our expertise and support in gender equality matters and very much look forward to maintaining this valuable dialogue going forwards.
Together, we #advance faster – across countries, industries and companies! Powered by engaged leaders.
