Leila Schwery is the Vice President of Manufacturing & Technical Operations at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, where she is responsible for the internal and external manufacturing sites as well as the technical functions (Manufacturing Science & Technology, Engineering and Digital & Technical Services)
Leila has 25 years of professional experience across Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, and the USA, having worked at Novartis, Elanco (formerly Eli Lilly), and Johnson & Johnson in the Pharmaceutical and Animal Health sectors. Her experience spans multiple areas of the supply chain, including Operations, External Supply, Quality, Environment-Health & Safety, and Planning. For more than 12 years, she has held global executive positions with responsibilities for Quality, Global Manufacturing, and Value Chain Management.
Leila is also a board member of Interpharma and serves as the chairman of the Innovation Hub Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Innosuisse Innovation Council for Life Science and sits of the EPFL Alumni board.
Born in Switzerland and raised between Switzerland, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia, Leila thrives in working with diverse cultures. She is passionate about creating and maximizing value through innovation and technology to improve and extend people’s lives. Leila has a strong track record of building diverse, high-performing teams within an inclusive culture and consistently driving sustainable, high-performance results.
Leila holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from EPFL. She lives in Switzerland and has a 13 years old son.
