Thank you for choosing to be part of our community. Advance Gender Equality in Business is committed to protecting personal information and the right to privacy. This Data Privacy Policy describes how Advance Gender Equality in Business handles personal information collected through the site www.weadvance.ch that links to the “Member Area” (collectively, “https:// https://secure.advance-women.ch/crm/”), registration lists to our events and mailing lists. More precisely, it is described what information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to it.

By using the website “Member Area” and providing personal information to us, you acknowledge you have read this Data Privacy Policy, and, to the extent your consent is necessary and valid under applicable law, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of such personal information by the Advance Gender Equality in Business network and any third party recipients in accordance with this Data Privacy Policy.

Other websites available within the website ‘Member Area’ may have privacy statements that differ from this one and/or contain additional information as required under local law. Please refer to the privacy statements on the sites you visit in order to understand how they collect and process your data. By accessing any sites available within the Member Area or content within them, you (a) acknowledge you will review those Privacy statements and (b) to the extent required under applicable law, consent to the collection, processing and use of your personal data as described in those Privacy statements.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

Personal information you disclose to us
Personal information that you or the Advance Ambassador of your company provides to us via the registration process in the Member Area. Collected information include: name, email address, postal address, telephone number, organisation, and job title. Some of the information is required in order to receive the benefits of being a Registered User. Those fields are marked with an *.For as long as you are a Registered User, you are responsible for providing us with accurate information about you and for keeping that information up to date. You may update your information by editing your user profile in your Account.

Personal information that you provide to us via your registration to our events and to our newsletter. The interface we are using for that reason is wufoo’s online forms and mailchimp.

Information automatically collected
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Site. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Site and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Site, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
It is our policy to collect only minimum information required to complete your request. If the Member Area seeks non-mandatory personal information about you, you will be notified of this at the point of collection. If you believe a website has collected excessive information about you, please contact us to raise any concerns.

HOW DO WE USE THAT INFORMATION

  • to tailor the content within our Website and across Advance Gender Equality in Business digital properties, including content shown to you, to your preferences and interests;
  • to manage our relationship with you or the organisation for which you work (for example, by including personal data we collect about you from your use of the Websites in our customer relationship management systems);
  • to provide you with information about us and our services including via personalised marketing messages and/or communications unique to your organisation about our products and services;
  • to invite you to attend events, participate in sessions, etc.;
  • For other business purposes such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, evaluate and improve our site, services, marketing and your experience.

COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


MEDIA

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.


ANALYTICS / COOKIES

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

This website also uses LinkedIn and Facebook cookies to measure the impact of our social media campaigns to continuously improve our activities in advancing our cause. Here as well, IP anonymization is activated.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

Third party providers

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

We will retain your personal information on our systems only for as long as we need it, given the purposes for which it was collected, or as required to do so by law. We keep contact information (such as mailing list information) until a user unsubscribes or requests that we delete that information. We dispose of resumes when they are no longer under consideration unless the owner allows us to keep it in our files e.g. for future consideration.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Unsubscribe
If you want to unsubscribe from mailing lists or any registrations, you should look for and follow the instructions we have provided within the appropriate area(s) of the Websites or in the relevant communications to you.

If you choose to unsubscribe from any or all mailings, we may retain information sufficient to identify you so that we can honour your request.

If you are a Registered User, you may deactivate your account at any time via the Registered User section of the Websites. If you deactivate your account on the Websites, you will no longer receive the benefits of being a Registered User. If you choose to deactivate your account, we may retain information sufficient to identify you so that we can honour your request.

If you have other registrations with Advance Gender Equality in Business, or have provided your information to us through other means (such as subscribing to a newsletter), those registrations will be maintained unless you take specific action to inform us to cease contacting you.
Any user generated content that you may have created before then will not be anonymised following deactivation, nor will it be immediately removed from our systems or records.


WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.


HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorised persons are provided access to personally identifiable information collected via the Member Area; such individuals have agreed via their contracts to maintain the confidentiality of this information.

Although we use appropriate security measures once we have received your personal data, and all data is saved on a secure server, located in Switzerland, the transmission of data over the internet (including by e-mail) is never completely secure. We endeavour to protect personal data, but we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to or by us.


DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS POLICY?

This privacy policy will be updated as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. The updated version will be indicated by an updated ‘revised’ date and will be effective as soon as it is accessible.
