Doris Fiala

Doris Fiala was appointed Member of the National Council in 2007. She has twenty years of political experience in Switzerland. From 2008 to 2020 Doris Fiala was Member of the Swiss Delegation to the Council of Europe and its Parliamentary Assembly in Strasbourg. During her political career, she was president of different committees and organisations. Her latest roles have been as President of the Control Committee (National Council, 2017-2019), President of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Person (Council of Europe) and President of the FDP.Die Liberalen Frauen Schweiz (2019 – May 2020).

Besides her political career, Doris Fiala runs her own Public Relations Agency in Zurich named FIALA Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Zürich – Chancen und Risikomanagement. She is Member of the Board at Home Instead, at Procivis, at EHL Holding SA, at the EHL Foundation and, last but not least, she is Member of the Advisory Board at RepRisk AG.

Throughout her career, Doris Fiala has valued the role her family and friends have played in carrying her advancement. Among her political friends are women of the FDP as well as national councillors of other parties, who have or had to reconcile family, job and politics, like her. For many, the militia system reaches its limits. These circumstances motivate Doris Fiala to commit herself with a sense of community and to defy all adversities.
