Barbara Stäuble

Board Member Women in Tech Switzerland

Barbara Stäuble is a board member of Women in Tech Switzerland, with a main focus on furthering UNSDG#4 Quality Education. Barbara is a physicist who has worked to establish new universities and schools in Malaysia, Oman and China. She is convinced that the education of science and technology should be fun, start at a young age and be continuous for all stages of life. Advancing the education of young women, especially in the STEM subjects, is a topic that Barbara cares about strongly. This was particularly evident in her work as vice-president of the German University in Oman, where over 70% of students were female. In the school she helped setting up in Beijing, girls and boys are introduced to coding in a playful way in kindergarten.

Barbara is the proud mother of two, now adult, children. She holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Zurich and a Masters in International Education from Monash University. Barbara currently works as a consultant for international education, is a board member of educationsuisse and lives in the broader Zurich area.
