Dual-career couples are a fact of 21st-century life. Managing dual-career relationships involves a series of trade-offs not only between work and personal life, but also between their careers. Their lives are filled with negotiation and difficult conversations. These kinds of circumstances lead to important questions: whose career takes priority? And does it really need to be ‘either/or’?

Jannie (DK) is a seasoned Human Resource professional, specialized in global people mobility and leadership development. She is Founder of a community and start-up consultancy, aimed at supporting dual career couples in their global careers.
Dr. Paul Vanderbroeck
Author, Here We Are Global
Paul (NL/CH) has a background of managing talent in multinational organisations. He is an Executive Coach, an accomplished researcher and sought-after speaker on gender balance and leadership development.
Both authors are themselves each a partner in a dual career couple as well as parents. Therefore they have first-hand experience of the challenges and opportunities that mark the life in such a complex partnership. They met through a network connection, which underscores one of the book’s main messages: Opportunities arise when you commit to pursuing a long-term vision and short-term goals on a global development path – while remaining open for unexpected turns. Anna joined Advance in 2018 and as a Relations Manager she support our Members in making the most of their membership at Advance. She holds a Master in Intercultural Communication and worked previously for ECCO and one of the Richard Branson’s companies Virgin Pulse. She has a wide experience in sales, marketing, communication, project and account management.
After living in Poland, the Netherlands, Guatemala, Mexico, Denmark and Thailand, Anna settled in Switzerland. She is passionate about diversity & inclusion and has been co-leading the LEAN IN Switzerland Network since 2014. Her own experiences, combined with her work at LEAN IN has equipped her with a wealth of knowledge about challenges women face at work and a burning desire to help. Joining Advance was a natural next step.
Anna is also a Board Member at Capacity – a start-up incubator for refugees and migrants in Switzerland. Inspired by the entrepreneurs in the programme, she founded BabyMiles and My Gratitude Challenge. She’s also a frequent speaker, host, podcast guest and writer on the topics of gender equality, entrepreneurship and overcoming adversity.
