Let’s find out together what it takes to see more women choose and succeed in a technical career!

In cooperation with SIX and Girls in Tech Switzerland

the role of education and re-education

Not enough young women and girls are pursuing and successfully completing a technical education – one of the main reasons for a lack of women in tech. Universities and educators are challenged to evaluate and innovate their technical programs.

Additionally, companies are required to provide opportunities to grow and expand technical skillsets beyond the base education. As many technical jobs require a broad range of practical experience, it remains important to offer further education, mentoring, and collaborative ways for employees to learn from each other.

Finally, not only education but also how children are growing up and hearing about technical jobs from their surroundings can have a great impact on early career choices.

This panel discussion will highlight different perspectives and challenges from companies, universities, and educators around achieving their common goal of bridging the gender gap in STEM.

during this event you will learn

  • what skills and interests are needed to succeed and thrive in a technical career
  • how to best support girls & women in pursuing a technical career
  • how to improve STEM education to making it more welcoming and attractive for women
  • how to provide opportunities for women to improve & expand their technical skillset
  • why technical roles do not always require a technical education to start with
